Realismo social y representaci\u00f3n de la clase obrera. Las primeras obras de Don Rico, especialmente a finales de la d\u00e9cada de 1930 y principios de la de 1940, especialmente durante la Gran Depresi\u00f3n, generalmente trataban sobre los trabajadores de las f\u00e1bricas, la vida cotidiana de los trabajadores, la crisis econ\u00f3mica, las razas oprimidas y la lucha de clase.
